Is the BEBLV290 worth it over a handheld blower?

If you have a big yard and lots of leaves, the backpack carry and 16:1 mulching save real time and effort. For a small patio, a lighter handheld corded blower is easier to live with.

Does it really vacuum and mulch, or just blow?

It does both. In vacuum mode it shreds leaves at a 16:1 ratio into the included 55 L collection bag, so you empty it far less often.

Black & Decker rates sound power at 102.5 dB(A), which is loud enough to need ear protection and to bother neighbors. Keep sessions short and wear hearing protection.

Can I use it in the US?

The listed rating is 220 volts, which matches European and many other mains supplies, not standard US 120 V outlets. Check the voltage on the unit before buying for US use.

What comes in the box?

The blower/vacuum unit and the 55 L collection bag. You supply your own extension cord, which you will need because it is corded.

Corded blowers usually drop in price in fall leaf season and again in late winter clearance. Watch the price history and buy outside the autumn peak if you can wait.

Our take on the Black & Decker BEBLV290

The Black & Decker BEBLV290 is a corded backpack leaf blower and vacuum with a 16:1 mulcher and a 55 L collection bag. Its 390 km/h air speed and 900 m³/h air volume put it in serious yard-cleanup territory, and the backpack form spreads its 6.04 kg over your shoulders instead of your arms. It is loud at 102.5 dB(A) sound power, so hearing protection is a must. No current price was provided, so check the live comparison for where it sits against its recent range.
