Is the Bengal shade room-darkening?

No. It is unlined, so it filters light and gives varying opacity rather than blocking it. For a bedroom, pair it with a liner or a blackout layer.

Can I mount it inside or outside the window frame?

Both. Blindster lists inside and outside mount, and the built-in valance covers the headrail either way.

Does the motorized version work with Alexa and Nest?

Yes. The smart version connects to home automation systems with Nest and Alexa support. You need a compatible hub or bridge for voice control.

What widths are available?

Custom widths run from 12 to 96 inches, and the shade is made to your measurement.

Is it safe around children?

Blindster states it meets all CPSC requirements. The motorized version also removes the pull cord.

When is the price lowest?

The best new price is $211.61 at Blindster.com as of November 7, 2026. Custom shades rarely discount deeply, so compare against the recent range before ordering.
