Is the SoundLink Max worth $368?

If you want the loudest, bassiest sound Bose makes in a portable speaker and will use it outdoors, yes. If you mostly listen at home or want multiroom audio, cheaper or Wi-Fi-equipped speakers cover that better.

How does it compare with the SoundLink Flex?

The Max is larger, heavier and plays louder with more bass. The Flex is smaller, lighter and easier to toss in a bag, but it cannot match the Max's low end or volume.

How long does the battery last?

Bose rates it at up to 20 hours. Loud outdoor volume shortens that, and using the USB-C port to charge a phone drains it faster.

Can it survive pool water and rain?

Yes. It carries an IP67 rating, so it is dust-tight and can be briefly submerged. It floats? No, it sinks, so keep it secured near water.

The speaker, a removable rope handle and a USB-C charging cable. A wall adapter is not included.

Bose speakers usually drop during Black Friday and end-of-summer sales. The current best new price is $368 at Best Buy as of November 8, 2026.
