Is the Lowell sofa worth the price?

It is a US-made hardwood sofa with sinuous springs and reversible cushions, which is a step above particleboard frames and fixed cushions. Whether it is worth it depends on the fabric grade and dealer price you are quoted.

How does it compare with a mass-market sofa?

The Lowell uses a hardwood frame, sinuous spring suspension and Blendown pillows, and it is made in the USA. Big-box sofas at lower prices often use engineered wood frames and lower-density foam.

Will it fit in my room?

It is 86 inches long, 36 inches deep and 37 inches high, with a 70-inch seat width and 22-inch seat depth. Measure doorways and hallways too, since it weighs 140 lbs.

Can I change the fabric or cushions?

Cushions are removable and reversible, and the fabric is selected through a Braxton Culler dealer. Replacement covers and cushions are ordered through the dealer, not sold as standard retail parts.

What comes with the sofa?

The sofa ships with its seat and back cushions and the Blendown throw pillows. Legs may need attaching on delivery.

Made-to-order furniture rarely goes on deep discount, but dealer floor-model sales and holiday promotions are the usual times to find a lower price. Compare quotes across dealers before ordering.

Our take on the Braxton Culler Lowell 3-Seat Upholstered Sofa with Rolled Arms

The Braxton Culler Lowell is an 86-inch, three-seat sofa made in the USA with a hardwood frame, sinuous spring suspension and high-resiliency foam cushions. Its transitional look pairs rolled arms and turned legs with loose, reversible back and seat cushions, and it comes with Blendown throw pillows. At 140 lbs and 36 inches deep, it is a substantial piece that suits a living room more than a small apartment. It is a made-to-order, upper-tier sofa, so expect to buy through a dealer rather than off a shelf.
