Our take on the Bassett Furniture Carolina Roll Arm Sofa in Gray, 88"

The Bassett Carolina is an 88-inch roll-arm sofa in gray fabric with nailhead trim, built in Bassett's Virginia factories with made-to-order options. The 88-inch length seats three with room to spare, and the rolled arms and nailheads give it a traditional look that suits living rooms and family rooms. Bassett sells it through its own stores and website, so pricing depends on the fabric grade and any sale running. It is a long-term piece rather than a quick budget buy.

Pros
  • 88-inch length gives generous three-seat room
  • Rolled arms and nailhead trim suit traditional and transitional rooms

  • Bassett's frame construction and warranty back long-term use
  • Gray fabric is neutral and easy to pair
Cons
  • Full price is high for a fabric sofa
  • Made-to-order means a wait of weeks, not same-day delivery
  • 88 inches is too long for small rooms and tight hallways
  • Nailhead trim and light gray fabric need care with kids and pets
  • Store-based pricing makes comparison shopping harder

Questions and answers

Is the Bassett Carolina sofa worth the price?
If you want a US-made sofa with a traditional look and custom fabric, the construction and warranty justify the cost over a mass-market sofa. If you need quick delivery or a low price, it is hard to justify.
How long is the 88-inch Carolina sofa?
It is 88 inches long, so plan for roughly 7 feet 4 inches of wall space plus clearance. Measure doorways and hallways before ordering, since the frame ships assembled.
Can I choose a different fabric or color?
Yes. Bassett builds the Carolina to order, so you can pick from its fabric grades rather than only the gray shown. Fabric grade affects the price.
How long does delivery take?
Because it is made to order, expect several weeks between ordering and delivery, longer during busy periods. Confirm the current lead time with the store before you buy.
Does the nailhead trim come standard?
Nailhead trim is part of the Carolina's traditional styling, but confirm the exact trim on your order, since options can vary by configuration.
When is the best time to buy?
Bassett runs periodic store and website promotions, often around holidays. Compare the sale price against the regular made-to-order price before committing.
