Is a 20 mil wear layer worth it over 12 mil?

Yes for busy rooms. 20 mil is commercial-grade and resists scratches and wear far longer than the 6-12 mil layers on cheap planks. For a lightly used bedroom, 12 mil would do.

How many boxes do I need?

Each box covers 17.97 sqft with 9 planks. Divide your square footage by 17.97, then add 10% for cuts and waste.

Can it go in a bathroom or basement?

Yes. The SPC core and drop-lock joint are fully waterproof, so baths, laundry rooms and finished basements are fine. Basements still need a flat, dry slab.

Does it need underlayment?

No. A 2 mm pad is attached, so it floats directly over a flat subfloor. Skip extra foam, which can stress the joints.

How does it compare with laminate?

It is waterproof and more dimensionally stable than laminate, and the attached pad makes it quieter underfoot. Laminate can feel harder and costs less at the low end.

Nine planks, 48.04 by 5.99 inches each, with the pad pre-attached. No trim, transitions or tools are included.

Our take on the Camden Moonlit 20mil 7mm 9x60 SPC Vinyl Plank

The Camden Moonlit is a rigid-core SPC vinyl plank in a 9x60 inch format with a 20 mil wear layer, 6 mm core plus a 2 mm attached pad, and a drop-lock joint. The 20 mil wear layer is commercial-grade, well above the 6-12 mil typical of budget planks, and the long plank format reads as a wide wood floor. It is 100% waterproof, so kitchens, baths and basements are fair game. No current price was provided, so check the live comparison before buying.
