Is 14 kW enough for a whole house?

No. At 14 kW it is a point-of-use unit. It handles one shower or sink at a time. A whole house usually needs 24 kW or more, or a tank heater.

What breaker and wire does it need?

A 14 kW unit at 240V draws about 58 amps, so plan on a dedicated 60-amp double-pole breaker and 6-gauge copper wire. Have a licensed electrician confirm your panel can carry it.

How much hot water can it deliver?

Flow depends on how cold the incoming water is. In warm climates it can run a shower comfortably; in cold winters the flow rate drops. It is rated to 140°F maximum output.

What comes in the box?

The heater and a user manual. You supply the plumbing fittings, shutoff valves and any mounting hardware.

When is the price lowest?

Tankless heaters tend to dip during spring and summer, outside the cold-season rush, and around major sales events. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Casa Home Living 14kW Tankless Electric Water Heater

The Casa Home Living InstaE 14 is a 14 kW electric tankless water heater that mounts on a wall and needs a hard-wired 240V circuit. It heats water on demand up to 140°F and has no tank to fill or recover, so it suits a single point of use rather than a whole house. At 14 kW it draws about 58 amps at full load, which means a dedicated 60-amp breaker and heavy-gauge wiring. It ships with the unit and a user manual only; no fittings or valves are included.
