Is a 6-inch floor mattress thick enough for side sleepers?

Six inches is thicker than a typical 2 to 3-inch shikibuton, but it is still a firm, low surface. Side sleepers with hip or shoulder pressure often add a topper.

Can I use it on a bed frame?

Yes. It works on a slatted platform or tatami mat, and many buyers use it as a low bed. Avoid box springs, which make it too soft.

How do I clean and air it?

Air it in sunlight and rotate it regularly to prevent moisture buildup. Check the care label for whether the cover is removable and washable.

Does it come with a storage bag?

The listing does not state what is in the box. Confirm with the seller before buying if you need a carry or storage bag.

Is $149.99 a good price?

It is the only new price listed as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. Compare against other full-size 6-inch shikibutons before deciding.

Our take on the Casa Home Living 6 in Extra Thick Japanese Floor Mattress, Full, Black

This is a full-size Japanese-style shikibuton floor mattress, 6 inches thick and handcrafted, sold in black. The extra thickness makes it more forgiving than a thin traditional futon, so it works as a guest bed or a low bed for small rooms. At $149.99 at eBay as of November 7, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
