Our take on the CentralSound Low Profile Qi Wireless Fast Charger Charging Pad

The CentralSound Low Profile Qi Wireless Fast Charger is a flat 3.93-inch pad that charges any Qi phone at fast-charging speed over USB-C. At 0.27 inches tall and 4 ounces, it slips under a phone on a desk or nightstand without a stand or fan. It ships with a USB-C cable but no wall adapter, so you need your own power brick. No current price was provided, so compare its price against its recent range before buying.

Questions and answers

Is it worth buying?
If you want a thin, cheap Qi pad for a desk or nightstand and already own a USB-C wall adapter, it covers the basics. Skip it if you need a stand, magnets or multi-device charging.
Does it come with a power adapter?
No. The box includes the pad and a USB-C cable only. You supply a USB-C power adapter, and a higher-wattage one is needed for fast charging.
Will it fast-charge my iPhone?
It charges iPhones at Qi speeds, but full fast charging depends on your iPhone model and the adapter you use. Check that your adapter supports the wattage your phone expects.
Does it work with phone cases?
Most thin cases up to about 3 mm pass power through. Thick, metal or MagSafe-style cases with magnets can block or slow charging.
Can I use the phone while it charges?
Yes, but the pad lies flat with no stand, so you would hold the phone or lay it face-up. Lifting it off the pad stops charging.
When is it cheapest?
Wireless charging pads usually drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying rather than assuming the current price is low.
