Is the Deralin daybed worth it?

If you need two twin sleeping spots in one footprint and want to skip a box spring, it is a reasonable pick. The 1500 lb rating and steel slats are the main selling points. Weigh that against a small review sample and reports of assembly effort.

Does it need a box spring?

No. The premium steel slat support is built in, so you place a twin mattress directly on the slats. That saves the cost and height of a box spring.

What size mattress does the underbed take?

A second twin mattress. Measure the underbed clearance before buying, because thick pillow-top twins may not slide in cleanly.

The frame is rated to 1500 lbs, which is high for this category. Some owners still report squeaks and wobble over time, so tighten the bolts after assembly and again a few weeks later.

How big is it in the room?

It is 78.8'' long, 41.2'' wide and 39.1'' high. Leave clearance in front of the underbed so it can pull out fully.

When is the best time to buy?

Metal daybeds usually dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history on this page and buy when the current price is near the low end of the recent range.
