Our take on the Chita Living Dane Deep Seat Tufted Back 87'' Modern Sofa

The Chita Living Dane is an 87-inch modern sofa with a 26.7-inch seat depth, tufted back and curved arms, upholstered in a chenille-blend fabric over a solid wood frame. Its down-filled feather cushions and removable covers make it a low-slung, lounge-style piece rated for 900 lbs. The 11.4-inch back height and 18.5-inch seat height keep it visually low, which suits open rooms but not tall users who want head support.

Questions and answers

Is the Chita Living Dane sofa worth it?
It suits buyers who want a deep, soft feather seat more than firm upright support. At 87 inches wide and rated to 900 lbs, it is a large lounge piece, so check your room depth against the 26.7-inch seat before buying.
How deep is the seat compared with a standard sofa?
The seat depth is 26.7 inches, several inches deeper than a typical 21-22 inch sofa. That makes it good for lounging but awkward for shorter users who want their feet on the floor.
Do the feather cushions flatten?
Down-filled feather cushions compress with use and need regular fluffing to keep their shape. Expect to rotate and plump them weekly, and consider a foam-topper insert if you prefer firmer support.
Are the cushion covers removable and washable?
The cushions are removable, and the chenille-blend covers are designed to come off for cleaning. Check the care label before machine washing, since chenille blends can shrink or pill.
Will it fit through a standard doorway?
At 87 inches long and 30 inches tall, the sofa is one piece, so measure doorways and stair turns before delivery. A 30-inch height clears most standard doors, but tight hallways are the usual problem.
When is the best time to buy it?
Sofa prices tend to drop around major holiday sales and at end-of-season clearance. Track the price history on this page and compare against the recent low before buying.
