Our take on the CHITA Twin Size Modern Velvet Upholstered Wood Daybed with Storage Space

The CHITA Twin Velvet Daybed is an upholstered twin-size daybed built on an engineered wood frame, with velvet fabric and hidden storage space underneath. It holds up to 300 lb and works as a sofa by day and a bed by night in a guest room, home office or teen room. It is a frame-only piece, so the mattress is bought separately. No current store price was provided, so check the live comparison before buying.

Pros
  • Dual use as a sofa and a twin bed
  • Velvet upholstery gives a softer look than painted wood
  • Under-bed storage uses space a standard bed wastes
  • 300 lb weight capacity suits most adults
  • Engineered wood frame keeps the cost below solid wood
Cons
  • Frame only, so mattress and bedding add to the total
  • Velvet shows lint, pet hair and spills
  • Engineered wood is less durable than solid hardwood
  • Storage access is under the frame, which is awkward in tight rooms
  • No price history available to judge the current deal

Questions and answers

Is the CHITA daybed worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you need one piece that seats guests and sleeps one person, and you want storage without a separate trundle. Compare the frame price plus a twin mattress against a basic twin bed and a small sofa before deciding.
What mattress size fits this daybed?
It takes a standard twin mattress, about 38 by 75 inches. The frame is sold without a mattress, so budget for one separately.
How much weight does it hold?
The listed maximum is 300 lb. That covers one adult plus bedding; it is not built for two people sitting or sleeping at once.
What is included in the box?
The box contains the daybed frame and upholstered panels only. Mattress, pillows and bedding are not included.
When is the best time to buy it?
Furniture prices tend to dip around major holiday sales and at the end of a season. Check the price history on this page and buy when the listed price is near its recent low.
