Is the Coast FX411 worth it?

At $22.56 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair buy if you want a large wood-handled folder and don't need premium steel. Expect to sharpen it more often than a D2 blade.

What is 7Cr17 steel like?

It is an entry-level stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and easy sharpening, but it loses an edge faster than higher-carbon or powder steels.

Can the pocket clip be moved?

Yes. The clip is two-position, so you can set it for tip-up or tip-down carry.

How big is it in the pocket?

Closed length is 4.9 inches and weight is 5.1 oz, so it is a full-size knife that takes real pocket space.

Does it have a thumb stud or flipper?

The FX411 opens with a thumb stud on the blade; there is no flipper tab.

Only one store lists it new, at $22.56 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026. Watch for holiday knife sales, when budget folders often drop a few dollars.
