Questions and answers

Is the Coast GX15 worth it?
At $15.93 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a cheap, waterproof, focusable light for a car, drawer or pack. If you need long runtime at high output, spend more on a larger 18650 light.
Does the GX15 come with a rechargeable battery?
No. It ships with 3 AAA alkaline batteries. The USB-C rechargeable ZITHION-X ZX557 pack is sold separately and drops into the same body.
How long does the battery last?
About 5 hours on high and up to 18 hours on low, per Coast's specs. Turbo drains faster. Carry spare AAAs if you plan to use high mode for long stretches.
Is it really waterproof?
Yes, it is rated IP67, so it is dust-tight and survives being dropped in water briefly. It is not rated for diving or sustained submersion.
How does it compare to the GX10 or other Coast G-series lights?
The GX15 adds a fourth mode and a higher top output over the smaller GX10, while keeping the same twist-focus system and AAA power. Both are compact carry lights; pick the GX15 if you want more brightness.
When is the GX15 cheapest?
Its best new price was $15.93 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, with only two stores listing it new. Flashlight prices often dip around Black Friday and the holidays.
