Is the Commercial Chef 1.6 cu ft microwave worth it?

If you want a big cavity and 1,100 W for a low price, yes. At $134.36 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it undercuts most 1.6 cu ft stainless models. You give up sensor cooking and extra modes.

How does it compare with a 0.9 cu ft microwave?

It holds roughly twice the volume and runs at 1,100 W versus about 900 W on most compact units. It is also much larger outside: 21.8 in wide and 37 lb.

Will a 12-inch plate fit inside?

Yes. The interior is 17 in wide, 15.5 in deep and 10.2 in high, so standard dinner plates and most casserole dishes fit on the turntable.

What comes in the box?

The microwave, a glass turntable and roller ring, and the manual. No trim kit is included; it is a countertop unit, not a built-in.

Does it need a special outlet?

It runs on standard 120 V household power at 1,100 W. A dedicated or lightly loaded circuit is safer, since it draws close to 10 amps.

Large microwaves tend to dip during Black Friday and holiday sales. The current $134.36 at eBay as of November 5, 2026 is already near the low end for this size.
