Is the 20 mil wear layer enough for dogs?

Yes. 20 mil is a heavy residential wear layer and handles claws and traffic well. Keep nails trimmed and use felt pads under furniture to avoid scratches.

Can it go in a bathroom or basement?

Yes. The WPC core is waterproof and won't swell, so wet areas and below-grade rooms are fine. Floating installs still need a flat, dry subfloor.

How many cartons do I need?

Each carton covers 38.24 sq. ft. Divide your square footage by that and add 10 percent for cuts and waste, then round up.

Does it need underlayment?

No. A 1.5 mm cork pad is attached, so you only need a moisture barrier over concrete or a flat subfloor.

How does it compare to COREtec Plus?

This is the Originals Classics build with the same WPC core and cork backing. Plus lines add thicker cores and more color options at higher prices.

Carton pricing on COREtec drops during retailer flooring sales and clearance events. Compare per-square-foot prices across stores before buying a full order.

Our take on the COREtec Ivory Coast Oak WPC Vinyl Plank Flooring VV024-00705 LVP Originals Classics 7" x 48"

COREtec Ivory Coast Oak is a 7-inch by 48-inch waterproof WPC vinyl plank from the Originals Classics line, sold in 16-plank cartons covering 38.24 sq. ft. It pairs an 8 mm extruded wood/bamboo/PVC core with a 20 mil wear layer, attached 1.5 mm cork underlayment and angle-tap locking for floating installs. The 20 mil wear layer is on the heavy-duty end for residential vinyl, and the cork backing adds quiet and warmth underfoot. Pricing varies by retailer and carton promotions; check the current per-square-foot price against its recent range before ordering, since carton pricing on this line moves with sales.
