Is 35 pints enough for a basement?

For a basement up to about 1,000 sq ft with moderate dampness, yes. Larger or very wet spaces need a 50-pint or 70-pint unit.

Does it work in a cold garage?

Poorly. Compressor dehumidifiers lose efficiency below about 60°F and can frost up. A desiccant unit is the better pick for cold spaces.

Can it drain continuously?

Most Costway 35-pint models accept a gravity drain hose, so you can skip emptying the tank. Confirm the hose port on the listing before buying.

Expect normal compressor noise, roughly 50 dB or more on high. It is fine in a basement but noticeable in a bedroom at night.

Costway runs frequent site-wide sales and coupon codes, and marketplace prices dip in spring before humid season. Compare sellers rather than buying at list price.

Our take on the Costway 35-Pint Dehumidifier for Home

The Costway 35-Pint Dehumidifier is a compressor-based home dehumidifier rated at 35 pints per day, with three modes and a 5.3 L (about 1.4 gal) water tank. It is aimed at damp basements, bedrooms and closets where a full-size unit is overkill. Costway sells it direct and through several marketplaces, so pricing swings widely between sellers.
