Is this worth it compared with a full-size washer?

If you have a hookup and space, a full-size washer cleans better and spins drier. This makes sense when you cannot install one, such as a rental, dorm or RV.

How much can it wash at once?

The wash tub holds up to 9.9 lb, roughly a few shirts, underwear and towels. Keep loads loose so clothes can move.

Does it need to be hooked up to plumbing?

No permanent hookup is needed. You fill it from a faucet with a hose and let it drain into a sink, tub or bucket.

How dry do clothes come out?

The spin tub removes a lot of water, but clothes stay damper than after a full-size spin cycle. Plan on air drying or a short dryer run.

What comes in the box?

Typically the washer unit, a fill hose and a drain hose. Check the listing for the exact accessories included.

Budget portable washers tend to dip during spring moving season and major sales events. Compare current store prices before buying.

Our take on the Costway 4.5 kg Portable Twin Tub Washing Machine

The Costway Portable Twin Tub Washing Machine is a compact top-loading washer with a 9.9 lb wash capacity and a separate spin tub. At 31.5 inches tall and 16.5 inches wide, it fits in small bathrooms, closets and RV corners where a full-size washer will not. It is a budget option for renters and campers who want to wash small loads without a permanent hookup.
