Our take on the YOUNGFIT 30 lbs Twin Tub Portable Washing Machine with Drain Pump

The YOUNGFIT 30 lbs Twin Tub is a portable electric washer with two side-by-side tubs: a top-loading wash tub and a separate spin-dryer, both controlled by manual dials. The 30 lb figure is the wash load rating, not water volume; the drum holds about 29 gallons. A built-in drain pump lets it empty into a sink or standpipe, which matters for apartment and RV use. It is a budget, no-frills machine aimed at small spaces rather than a full-size replacement.

What reviewers say

Owner feedback on twin-tub portables like this is mixed. People like the low price and the ability to wash in places with no hookup, but many find the manual transfer of wet laundry tedious and the spin cycle weaker than expected.

Pros
  • Cheap way to get laundry done in a small space
  • Drain pump makes emptying easier
  • Simple controls and few parts to break
Cons
  • Clothes come out of the spinner still wet
  • Small loads and long cycle times
  • Build quality feels light for daily use

Questions and answers

Is 30 lbs the water capacity?
No. The 30 lb rating is the maximum wash load weight. The tub volume is about 29 gallons, and you fill it with a hose to the marked level.
Does it need a special hookup?
No plumbing connection is required. You fill it from a faucet with a hose and drain it with the pump into a sink, tub or standpipe.
Will clothes come out dry?
No. The spin tub removes excess water but leaves clothes damp. Plan on air drying or a trip to a dryer.
Can it wash blankets or a queen comforter?
Not well. It handles shirts, towels and small loads. Bulky bedding overloads the tub and spins poorly.
How does it compare with a full-size washer?
It is cheaper and portable but slower, smaller and fully manual. It suits small spaces, not a household doing several loads a week.
When is the best time to buy?
Portable washers tend to dip during spring moving season and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying.
