Is the back open or closed?

It is backless, with a guardrail along the back edge instead of a full panel. That keeps it light and lets cords pass through, but the wall shows behind it.

How much weight does each cube hold?

Costway does not publish a per-cube limit, and the backless frame is not meant for heavy loads. Keep books and bins moderate and put heavy items on lower cubes.

Does it need to be attached to the wall?

The open-back design is less rigid than a backed shelf, so anchoring it to the wall is wise, especially in homes with children.

Is $64.99 a good price?

It is the best new price among the five stores listing it as of November 5, 2026, so it is a fair entry point for a six-cube shelf.
