Is $33.99 a good price for this bookshelf?

It is at the low end of its recent range, and only two stores list it new at that price as of November 5, 2026. Waiting is unlikely to save much unless a clearance appears.

How much weight can each shelf hold?

Each of the twelve shelves is rated for 22 lbs. Distribute heavy books across shelves rather than stacking one shelf to its limit.

Does it need to be attached to the wall?

It is freestanding but includes tilt-protection hardware, and anchoring is recommended given its 52-inch height and 50-lb weight. This matters most in homes with children or pets.

How deep are the shelves?

The unit is 9.5 inches deep, so it fits standard hardcovers and trade paperbacks but not oversized art books or deep storage bins.

How hard is assembly?

Assembly is required and detailed instructions are included. With twelve shelves and a drawer, expect a couple of hours and a second person to help stand it upright.

The box contains the shelf panels, the drawer, the tilt-protection fitting and the assembly instructions. Tools are not listed, so have a screwdriver on hand.
