Our take on the Costway Full-Automatic Washing Machine 1.5 Cu.Ft 11 LBS Spin Dryer

The Costway Full-Automatic Washing Machine is a compact top-loading portable washer with a 1.5 cu. ft. drum and a built-in spin cycle, meant for small apartments, dorms and RVs where a full-size machine won't fit. It runs on standard household power and is Energy Star certified. It is a budget portable unit, so expect lighter-duty build quality and smaller loads than a full-size washer.

Questions and answers

Is the Costway portable washer worth it?
It makes sense if you have no laundry hookup and wash small loads. If you have space and a hookup for a full-size washer, a standard machine cleans better and lasts longer.
How much laundry does the 1.5 cu. ft. drum hold?
Roughly a small load: a few shirts, underwear and light items, or one set of sheets. Overloading it hurts washing and spinning performance.
Does it need to be connected to plumbing?
It fills from a faucet or hose and drains into a sink, tub or standpipe. It does not require a dedicated washer hookup, which is why it suits apartments and RVs.
How dry do clothes get after the spin cycle?
Damp, not dry. The spin cycle removes some water, but most loads still need air drying or a trip to a dryer.
Is it Energy Star certified?
Yes, Costway lists this model as Energy Star certified. That matters most for small loads, since the machine uses little water and power per cycle.
What do buyers say about the Costway Full-Automatic Washing Machine 1.5 Cu.Ft 11 LBS Spin Dryer?
Rated 3.6 out of 5 from 51 ratings.
