Is the Costway 5.5 lb mini washer worth it?

For small loads in a space without laundry hookups, yes. At $87.99 at Distritech as of October 31, 2026, it costs far less than a full-size machine, but it won't replace one for a family.

How much laundry fits in 5.5 lbs?

Roughly a few T-shirts, socks and underwear per cycle. Think one person's daily small load, not bedding or a week of clothes.

Does it need to be hooked up to plumbing?

No permanent hookup is required. You fill it manually or with a hose and drain it into a sink, tub or bucket, which is why it suits apartments and RVs.

How does it compare with a full-size washer?

It is cheaper, smaller and portable, but washes far less per load and spins clothes less dry. It is a supplement, not a replacement.

Is the price likely to drop?

Its lowest and highest recent daily price are both $87.99, recorded October 31, 2026, so it has not moved. There is no cheaper recent price to wait for.

What comes in the box?

Expect the washer unit and a drain hose; check the listing for inlet hose and adapter details, since fill setups vary.
