Our take on the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1

The Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 is a gas zero-turn mower with a 50-inch deck, a 23 HP twin-cylinder 726cc engine and hydrostatic drive. It cuts from 1 to 4.5 inches across 15 positions and is rated for up to 4 acres. The best new price is $425.10 at Crenvu as of November 4, 2026, far below what a 50-inch zero-turn with a 23 HP twin normally costs, so check that listing carefully before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 worth it?
For lawns of an acre or more, yes. A 50-inch zero-turn with a 23 HP twin-cylinder engine cuts mowing time sharply compared with a lawn tractor. On small, cluttered lots, a smaller mower is easier to handle.
How does the ZT1 compare with the ZT2?
The ZT2 steps up to stronger transmissions and a heavier frame, which suits commercial or very rough use. For home lawns up to 4 acres, the ZT1 covers the same ground for less money.
Does it mulch?
Not out of the box. It side-discharges, and a mulch kit is sold separately. Bagging also needs a separate collection kit.
How much lawn can it handle?
Cub Cadet rates it for up to 4 acres. The 50-inch deck and hydrostatic drive make that realistic on open ground.
What is included with the mower?
The mower comes with its 12V battery and electric key start. The mulch kit and bagger are not included and must be bought separately.
When is the best time to buy?
Zero-turn prices usually drop in late fall and winter, outside mowing season. The $425.10 listing at Crenvu as of November 4, 2026 is far below typical pricing for this model, so confirm it is a complete new mower before ordering.
Where is the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 cheapest?
At Crenvu, for $425.10, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1?
Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 56 ratings.
Where can I buy the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1?
