Our take on the Cuddl Duds Heated Plush Bed Blanket, Full

The Cuddl Duds Heated Plush Bed Blanket is a machine-washable electric blanket with a soft plush face and a single controller on Twin and Full sizes. The Full measures 80 by 84 inches, so it covers a full mattress with modest overhang and runs on one controller, meaning one shared heat setting. It was tested by the Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute. No current price was supplied for this page, so check the live comparison for where it sits against its recent range.

Best forOne sleeper who wants a warm bed on a budget
Couples on a full mattress who agree on one heat level
Guest rooms and dorm beds
Cold sleepers who want plush softness, not a crisp electric pad
Pros
  • Plush surface is softer than typical quilted electric blankets
  • Single controller keeps setup and cords simple
  • 80 x 84 in covers a full mattress with a little drape
  • 72-in. power cord and 132-in. controller cord give placement room
  • Machine washable after detaching the controller
  • Third-party tested by Hohenstein
Cons
  • One controller means one shared heat zone across the whole bed
  • No dual-zone control until the Queen size
  • Plush fabric traps heat, so it can feel warm even when off
  • Only Full and larger sizes get more coverage; Twin is much narrower
  • Cord lengths still limit where the outlet can be

Questions and answers

Is the Full size big enough for two people?
At 80 by 84 inches it fits a full mattress with a few inches of overhang per side. It is workable for two, but the single controller means you share one heat setting.
Can I use different heat settings on each side?
No. The Full has one controller and one heating zone. Dual-zone control starts at the Queen size, which ships with two controllers.
How do I wash it?
Unplug the controller and detach it, then machine wash the blanket on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Never wash it with the controller attached.
Does it have an auto shut-off?
Most Cuddl Duds electric blankets include an auto shut-off timer on the controller, typically around 10 hours. Check the controller dial for the exact setting.
Is it safe to leave on overnight?
Follow the controller's timer and the care instructions. Many users run it to warm the bed and let the auto shut-off handle the rest rather than leaving it on all night.
When is it cheapest?
Heated blankets usually drop in price in late fall and around Black Friday, and again in late winter clearance. Watch the price history for a dip below the recent range.
