Our take on the Dakota Lithium PS2400 Portable Power Station

The Dakota Lithium PS2400 is a large portable power station with a 4,120 Wh battery and a 4.8 kW output, built for serious backup and off-grid loads rather than camping. It can be charged from solar, which suits cabin and van setups. At $1,407.07 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is priced well below what a 4 kWh lithium station usually costs, so it is worth checking the seller and warranty terms.

Pros
  • Very large 4,120 Wh capacity for the price
  • 4.8 kW output handles big loads and surge
  • Solar charging input fits off-grid use
  • Lithium iron phosphate chemistry is long-lived and safer than older lithium types
  • Price at eBay is low for this capacity class
Cons
  • Heavy and bulky; not a carry-around unit
  • 4.8 kW output is high for a portable, so check the inverter's continuous rating
  • Few stores carry it, so price and stock are limited
  • Warranty and support depend on the seller

Questions and answers

How much can the PS2400 run?
With 4.8 kW output and 4,120 Wh of storage, it can run a fridge, lights and a few small appliances for hours, or a single high-draw tool briefly. Total runtime depends on the load.
How long does it take to charge from solar?
Charging time depends on your solar array size. A large array in good sun can refill it in a day; a small panel will take several days.
Is $1,407 a good price?
At $1,407.07 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is low for a 4 kWh lithium station. Compare against the other new listing and confirm the seller's warranty before buying.
Can it power a home during an outage?
It can run selected circuits through a transfer switch, but 4.8 kW will not cover a whole house with central air and electric heat. Plan which loads you need.
What is included in the box?
Expect the power station itself and a charging cable. Solar panels and transfer-switch hardware are usually sold separately, so confirm with the seller.
Where is the Dakota Lithium PS2400 Portable Power Station cheapest?
