Pros
  • Part of Feehan's long-running Carpathian series
  • Standalone plot, so it can be read out of order
  • Paperback format is light and cheap to try
  • Mixes romance with suspense and action
Cons
  • Dated 2010 reissue, not a new release
  • Formulaic if you have read other Carpathian books
  • Dark, possessive hero dynamic some readers dislike
  • Mass-market paperback wears with heavy use
