Question 1

Is the DDP-80 PRO good for a beginner?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The 88 weighted keys build proper finger strength from the start, and the built-in recording lets you hear your own playing. Its furniture cabinet also fits a living room better than a stage piano.

Question 2

Does it work with piano apps and a computer?

Accepted Answer

It supports USB MIDI and wireless connectivity, so it can drive piano-learning apps and DAWs. Check that your app accepts a standard MIDI keyboard over USB.

Question 3

How does it compare with a Yamaha or Roland console?

Accepted Answer

It costs less than most big-brand wood consoles and includes weighted keys, MIDI and recording. The trade-off is fewer onboard sounds and less proven long-term support.

Question 4

Is $1,289.99 a good price?

Accepted Answer

It is the only new price listed, at Donner Music US as of November 5, 2026, so there is no cheaper store to compare. Watch for direct-from-Donner sales, which are the usual way this line drops.

Question 5

What is in the box?

Accepted Answer

Expect the piano, a power adapter and a sustain pedal. A bench and headphones are usually not included, so budget for those separately.

Question 6
