Is the Elevon Mini Spin Dryer worth it?

It suits small, frequent loads in a dorm, apartment or RV where a full washer won't fit. It is not a replacement for a full-size machine for family laundry.

How much laundry fits in a 5.5-pound drum?

Roughly a few T-shirts, a couple of pairs of jeans or a small load of delicates. Overloading it strains the motor and leaves clothes wet.

Does it wash and dry, or only spin?

It washes and then spin-dries. Clothes come out damp, not dry, so you still need to hang or air them.

Does it need to be hooked up to plumbing?

No permanent hookup is required. You fill it manually and drain the hose into a sink, tub or bucket.

Can it heat the water?

No. It has no water heater, so add warm water yourself if you want a warm wash.

When is the price lowest?

Small portable washers tend to dip during back-to-school and holiday sales. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Elevon Mini Spin Dryer Portable Washing Machine

The Elevon Mini Spin Dryer Portable Washing Machine is a small top-loading electric washer with a 5.5-pound capacity and a spin-dry cycle, built for apartments, dorms and RVs. It runs a single quick-wash program with a timer of up to 15 minutes, controlled by a knob, and sits on anti-slip foot pads for stability. Its plastic drum and painted plastic body keep it light and portable rather than built for years of daily family laundry. It is a compact, low-cost appliance, so its price should be judged against other portable washers in the same size class rather than full-size machines.
