Our take on the Ellis Curtain Room Darkening Pinch Pleat Curtains, 24''x72''

These are a pair of foam-backed, lined polyester jacquard drapes with a pinch-pleat header, sold in a 24-inch by 72-inch size. The foam backing and lining block 98% to 99.9% of sunlight and add UV protection, so they suit bedrooms and media rooms more than bright living spaces. They hang from drapery pins or clips and are machine washable. No current price was provided, so check the latest quote against the store listings before buying.

Pros
  • Foam backing plus lining blocks 98% to 99.9% of sunlight
  • Pinch-pleat header gives a formal, tailored drape
  • Woven jacquard face looks richer than plain polyester
  • Machine washable for easy care
  • UV protection helps limit fabric and furniture fading
Cons
  • Foam backing makes panels heavy and stiff
  • Limited light control only works if hung wide enough to overlap
  • Pinch pleats need pins or clips and a suitable rod
  • Polyester jacquard, not a natural fabric
  • Only 7 ratings, so the 4.4 score is thin evidence

Questions and answers

How much light do these curtains block?
The foam backing and lining block between 98% and 99.9% of sunlight, per the specs. That is close to full blackout, though light can still leak at the sides unless the panels overlap the window frame.
What size window does a 24x72 pair fit?
Each panel is 24 inches wide and 72 inches long, so the pair covers about 48 inches before pleating. Pinch pleats pull the fabric in, so measure the rod width and allow extra fullness for coverage.
How do I hang pinch-pleat curtains?
They attach with drapery pins or clips onto a rod with rings or a traverse track. The pleats are already sewn in, so no separate pleat hooks are needed beyond the pins.
Are they machine washable?
Yes, the polyester jacquard is machine washable. Use a gentle cycle and check the care label, since the foam backing can degrade with hot water or high dryer heat.
Are these good for a bedroom?
Yes. The near-total light blocking and UV protection suit bedrooms and nap rooms. The trade-off is weight: the foam-backed panels need a sturdy rod and brackets.
What do buyers say about the Ellis Curtain Room Darkening Pinch Pleat Curtains, 24''x72''?
