Is the Epiphone Les Paul Special-II E1 good for beginners?

Yes. The 24.75-inch scale, slim neck and light weight make it easy to learn on, and the humbuckers suit rock and blues. Budget for a professional setup to get the action right.

How does it compare with a standard Les Paul?

It shares the shape and scale but uses a poplar body, simpler hardware and lower-cost pickups. It is lighter and cheaper, with less sustain and finish detail than a full Les Paul.

Does it come with a case or gig bag?

No. It is sold as the guitar alone, so plan on a gig bag or case plus a cable and amp separately.

What amp works well with it?

Any small practice amp works. A 10- to 20-watt combo with a clean channel lets the humbuckers show their range from clean to overdriven rock.
