Questions and answers

Will these fit my six-string bass?
They are long scale, made for 34-inch-scale basses. Check your bass's scale length before buying; 35-inch or short-scale six-strings need a different set.
What gauges are in the set?
.032, .045, .065, .080, .100 and .130. The .130 low B is a medium-light choice for a six-string.
Are these coated strings?
No. They are uncoated nickel-plated steel roundwounds, so expect brightness to fade with playing time.
How do they compare with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky bass strings?
Same nickel-plated steel and hex core recipe, but this set is gauged and packed for six-string basses. The four- and five-string Slinky sets use different gauges.
When is the best time to buy?
String prices move little, but sets often dip during holiday sales and store promotions. The best new price was $21.99 at eBay as of November 7, 2026.
Where is the Ernie Ball Slinky Long Scale 6-String Nickel Wound Electric Bass Strings cheapest?
