Is the FPD 40-inch smart TV worth it?

At a budget price it is a reasonable bedroom or spare-room set. If you want bright HDR or 4K, spend more on a larger brand.

Does it run the same apps as a Samsung TV?

It uses the Tizen platform, so the app store and Netflix layout will look familiar. App availability can still vary by model, so check the store listing before buying.

Is 240 nits bright enough?

It is fine for a dim bedroom or evening viewing. In a sunny room the picture will look washed out, and HDR10 content will not show much extra range.

Can I mount it on a wall?

Yes, it is designed for wall mounting. You will need a VESA bracket sized for a 40-inch TV, sold separately.

How many devices can I plug in?

There are two HDMI inputs and one USB port. That covers a console and a streaming stick, but a soundbar plus two consoles will need a switch.

When is the best time to buy it?

Budget 40-inch TVs usually drop around Black Friday and back-to-school sales. Check the price history before buying so you know if the current price is low.
