Our take on the Furrytail Large Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box

The Furrytail Large is a corded automatic litter box that rakes and sifts clumps into a waste drawer on a cycle, so you scoop less. It is built for big cats, rated to 29 lb per cat, and the LED display shows cycle and fault status. A 70.9-inch cord gives placement room, and the minimalist shell suits a bathroom or laundry corner. It is a niche brand in the US, so check the return window before committing.

Questions and answers

Is it big enough for a Maine Coon?
It is rated for cats up to 29 lb, which covers most Maine Coons and other large breeds. Very long cats may still find the entry tight, so measure your cat against the interior before buying.
Does it need special litter?
It works best with clumping clay litter, which forms firm clumps the rake can lift. Crystal or soft, sticky litter can smear the rake and cause jams.
How often do I empty the waste drawer?
Expect roughly a week for one cat and more often in multi-cat homes. The LED display flags when the drawer is full.
Does it work during a power outage?
No. It is corded electric with no battery backup, so it stops cycling when the power is out. You can still scoop by hand until power returns.
What is in the box?
The box ships as a single piece with the litter box, rake assembly and power cord. Assembly is required before first use.
When is the best time to buy it?
Automatic litter boxes see the deepest discounts around Black Friday and Prime Day. Check the price history on this page before buying.
