Is the Tactical Edition worth it over the standard Instinct 2X Solar?

Only if you need stealth mode, NVG compatibility, waypoint projection or dual-position GPS. Otherwise the standard Instinct 2X Solar does the same fitness and GPS work for less.

How long does the battery last?

Garmin rates it for weeks in smartwatch mode and unlimited time with 3 hours of direct sunlight (50,000 lux) per day. GPS use drains it much faster; the listed 3-hour figure is not the smartwatch-mode life.

Does it work with iPhone?

Yes. It pairs over Bluetooth with both iOS and Android through the Garmin Connect app, though the listing only names Android as the supported OS.

Is it too big for a woman's wrist?

At 50 x 50 x 14.7 mm it is one of the largest Garmin cases. Many women wear it, but those with small wrists often prefer the 40 mm Instinct 2S.

Is it good for swimming?

Yes. It is water-rated to 10 ATM and tracks swim workouts, so pool and open-water swimming are fine.
