Is the GENIMO Pealia rug really machine washable?

Yes. GENIMO lists it as machine washable, so a 6'x9' should fit a large-capacity front-load or commercial machine. Air-dry or tumble on low to protect the backing.

Will the non-slip backing work on hardwood or tile?

The backing is designed to grip hard floors without a pad. On very smooth tile or laminate, a thin rug pad adds grip and keeps the edges flat.

Does the waterproof layer make it feel plasticky?

The waterproof layer sits beneath the imitation cashmere pile, so the surface still feels soft. The trade-off is a thinner, less plush feel than a wool rug.

What sizes does the Pealia come in?

GENIMO lists 2x3, 2x6, 2x10 runner, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 6x9, 8x10, 9x12 and 10x14 feet. The 6'x9' fits under a coffee table or in a mid-size dining area.

Is it good for homes with dogs and cats?

Yes. It is marketed as pet friendly, and the stain-resistant, washable surface handles accidents and muddy paws better than most low-pile rugs.

When is the best time to buy a Christmas rug?

Holiday rugs usually drop after December 25 and stay discounted into January as stores clear seasonal stock. Buy early in the season if you need a specific size.
