Is this set worth it at $49.94?

Yes, if you want a sturdy everyday set for four. At about $4 a piece it is cheaper than most stoneware sets, and $49.94 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026 is near the bottom of its recent price range.

Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?

Gibson Home lists the stoneware as dishwasher and microwave safe. Many owners hand wash to keep the matte glaze from dulling, and sudden temperature changes can crack stoneware.

How does it compare with porcelain or bone china?

Stoneware is thicker and heavier, so it chips less but feels bulky. Porcelain and bone china are lighter and finer but cost more and chip more easily.

Will the matte finish scratch?

Matte glazes can pick up gray marks from metal utensils and darken with heavy use. Use gentle detergent and avoid stacking plates directly on each other.

Dinnerware sets usually drop around Black Friday and back-to-school sales. The current $49.94 at Walmart is already close to the lowest price seen recently.

Our take on the Gibson Home Admiral Hall 12-Piece Matte Stoneware Dinnerware Set

The Gibson Home Admiral Hall is a 12-piece stoneware set with a matte blue floral finish, enough for four people: four dinner plates, four salad plates and four bowls. Stoneware is heavier and more chip-resistant than porcelain or bone china, and the matte glaze gives it a handmade look. At $49.94 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, so this is a good time to buy if the pattern suits you.
