Our take on the Mikasa Cardinal Leaves 16 Piece Dinnerware Set

The Mikasa Cardinal Leaves 16-piece set is a bone china service for four with dinner plates, 9-inch salad plates, 6-inch all-purpose bowls and 12-ounce mugs. The winter cardinal-and-leaves motif is a seasonal holiday look, but the pieces are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe for everyday use. Bone china gives it a lighter, semi-glossy translucent body than stoneware. The best new price is $69.99 at mikasa.com as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new listing, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is this set worth $69.99?
At $69.99 at mikasa.com as of November 4, 2026, it works out to about $4.37 per piece for bone china, which is low for the material. It is the only new listing, so compare against other Mikasa 16-piece bone china sets before buying.
How does bone china compare with porcelain or stoneware?
Bone china is lighter and more translucent, and it chips more easily than stoneware. It is still fine for daily use if you stack and wash it with care.
Can the plates and mugs go in the microwave and oven?
Yes. The set is listed as dishwasher, microwave and oven safe, so warming plates or reheating in the mugs is fine. Avoid sudden temperature changes, which stress bone china.
What is in the box?
Four dinner plates, four 9-inch salad plates, four 6-inch all-purpose bowls and four 12-ounce mugs. That is four complete place settings, with no serving bowls or platters.
When is it cheapest?
Holiday-themed dinnerware usually drops after the winter holidays and during Mikasa's seasonal sales. With only one new listing at $69.99 as of November 4, 2026, watch for a markdown rather than cross-store competition.
