Is the Govee Permanent Outdoor Light 2 (Elite) worth it?

At $250.00 at Mercari as of November 7, 2026, it is priced for a permanent install rather than a seasonal string. You get 100 ft, warm white plus color, and Matter support, so it replaces several holiday light sets.

How does it compare with the original Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights?

The Elite adds a dedicated 4000K warm white channel at 2880 lumens and Matter support over the earlier RGBIC version. That makes everyday white lighting more usable, not just holiday color.

How much coverage does the 100 ft kit give?

The string comes as six 16.67 ft sections with one 12 ft and two 4 ft extension cables. That suits a typical single-story roofline or porch run; larger homes need a second kit.

Does it work with Alexa, Google Home and Matter?

Yes. It supports Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Matter, and the Govee Home App handles color, brightness and scenes.

Can it stay up all year in cold or hot weather?

Govee rates it IP67 and for -4°F to 140°F, so it is designed to stay mounted through winter and summer. The light strings are sealed; the control box and adapter still need sheltered placement.

A 100 ft light string in six sections, a control box, power adapter, one 12 ft extension cable, two 4 ft extension cables, and the manual and quick start card.
