Our take on the Gravity FSX29LTD 29er Full Suspension Mountain Bike

The Gravity FSX29LTD is a full-suspension 29er mountain bike sold direct online, built around a 21-speed Shimano drivetrain and Tektro brakes. It stands out mainly on price: a full-suspension 29er at $499 is well below what most bike-shop brands charge for a hardtail. The $499 at Bikesdirect.com as of November 4, 2026 is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is the Gravity FSX29LTD worth $499?
For a full-suspension 29er, $499 is unusually low. It makes sense for light trail use and casual riders; serious trail riders will feel the budget drivetrain and tires.
Is it good for beginners?
Yes, if you keep to smooth trails and fire roads. The 21-speed gearing is simple, but plan on a shop check of the suspension and brakes after assembly.
What size rider fits a 29er like this?
29-inch wheels suit riders roughly 5'7" and up. Check the frame size chart at Bikesdirect.com before ordering, since sizing is the most common mistake on mail-order bikes.
How does it compare with a hardtail at the same price?
A $499 hardtail from a bike shop usually has better components and a warranty through a local dealer. The Gravity's advantage is rear suspension; the trade-off is heavier, lower-tier parts.
What comes in the box?
The bike ships mostly assembled with platform pedals included. Expect to fit the front wheel, bars and seat, and to check derailleur and brake adjustment.
When is it cheapest?
The only new price tracked is $499 at Bikesdirect.com as of November 4, 2026. Direct-to-consumer brands like this one tend to discount around major sales; set a price alert.
Where is the Gravity FSX29LTD 29er Full Suspension Mountain Bike cheapest?
At Bikesdirect.com, for $499.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Gravity FSX29LTD 29er Full Suspension Mountain Bike?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Bikesdirect.com, eBay.
