Our take on the Greadio Bluetooth Rechargeable AM FM Radio with NOAA Weather Alert

The Greadio is a pocket-sized rechargeable radio that tunes AM, FM, shortwave and NOAA weather bands with an alert function. It weighs about 0.29 lb and runs on a built-in battery, so it works as a small emergency or travel radio. It is a budget personal radio, not a tabletop set, and its 4 out of 5 rating from 33 ratings reflects modest but generally positive owner feedback.

Questions and answers

Is the Greadio radio worth it?
For a cheap, light backup radio for weather alerts and basic AM/FM, yes. If you want room-filling sound or serious shortwave listening, spend more on a larger set.
Does it need batteries?
No. It has a built-in rechargeable battery and charges over USB, so you do not need disposable cells. Keep in mind that a long power outage will drain it unless you have a power bank.
Can it charge my phone in an emergency?
No. This model is a radio only and does not work as a power bank. Plan a separate charger or power bank for your phone.
How does the NOAA weather alert work?
It tunes the NOAA weather channels and can sound an alert when a warning is broadcast. It only works where those channels come in clearly, so test it at home before relying on it.
What comes in the box?
You get the radio and a charging cable. Check the listing for the exact cable type, since some units ship with USB-C and others with micro-USB.
When is it cheapest?
Small radios like this often drop around major sales and back-to-school events. Check the price history before buying rather than paying full price.
