Questions and answers

Is the Greadio weather radio worth $39.99?
It is a reasonable price for a S.A.M.E.-capable NOAA radio on AA batteries. If you want water resistance, a crank charger or louder audio, spend more on a mid-range model.
How does S.A.M.E. programming work on this radio?
You enter the six-digit S.A.M.E. code for your county, which you can find on the NOAA website. Once set, the radio should only sound alerts for that area instead of every broadcast in range.
How long do the batteries last?
Greadio rates it at 12 hours on AA batteries. That is short for a long outage, so keep spare AAs on hand.
Is it waterproof?
No. It is not water-resistant, so use it indoors or keep it sheltered outdoors.
What comes in the box?
Expect the radio and a manual; batteries are typically not included. Check the listing before buying if you need AAs on day one.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price, $39.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, is listed, so there is no recent low to wait for. Weather radios often drop ahead of storm season.
