How long does the battery really last?

Greenworks rates the included 5.0Ah battery at up to 60 minutes, or about 1/3 acre. Expect less in tall, thick or wet grass, and more on light, frequent cuts.

Is it worth it over a gas mower?

For lawns up to about 1/3 acre, yes: no gas, oil, fumes or pull starts, and it is quieter. For larger lawns or very heavy growth, a gas mower or a second battery makes more sense.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

Yes. The kit includes one 40V 5.0Ah battery and a charger. Check the listing you buy from, since bare-tool versions of Greenworks mowers also exist.

Can I use other Greenworks 40V batteries in it?

Yes. Any Greenworks 40V battery works, and a larger amp-hour pack extends run time. The 40V platform also covers trimmers, blowers and chainsaws.

How do I switch between mulch, bag and side discharge?

It uses a 3-in-1 system: insert the mulch plug for mulching, attach the bag for collection, or fit the side-discharge chute. The plug and chute are included.
