Our take on the GroovyPets 1100 Yard Range Voice Enabled Remote Training Shock Dog Bark Collar

The GroovyPets is a remote training collar with a claimed 1100-yard range and voice-enabled commands, plus tone and shock correction. It fits necks from 6 to 26 inches on a 3/4-inch strap, so it covers small dogs through large breeds. It is a budget-tier unit sold online, and its price moves around more than premium trainer collars, so check the current price against its recent range before buying.

Best forOwners training recall at long distancesMulti-dog households needing one remoteSmall to large breeds on one collarBuyers who want tone and voice cues before shock
Pros
  • Long claimed 1100-yard range for outdoor training
  • Voice, tone and shock modes in one unit
  • Wide 6-26 inch neck fit covers most breeds
  • Buckle closure is simple to put on
  • Rechargeable embedded battery, no disposable cells
Cons
  • Shock correction is aversive; many trainers prefer vibration or tone only
  • No independent safety certification listed
  • Range claims from budget brands are often optimistic in brush or buildings
  • Single collar, so multi-dog use needs extra receivers
  • No app or training program included

Questions and answers

Is the 1100-yard range realistic?
Expect the full range only in open line of sight. Trees, walls and hills cut it sharply, which is normal for budget remote collars.
Does it work on small dogs?
The strap fits necks down to 6 inches, so small breeds fit. Keep shock levels at the lowest setting and use tone or voice first.
What comes in the box?
Typically the collar receiver, handheld remote, charger and strap. Confirm the exact bundle with the seller, since budget listings vary.
How does it compare with a name-brand trainer collar?
It costs far less and adds voice commands, but name brands like Sportdog or Dogtra usually have sturdier builds and more consistent range.
Is shock mode safe?
Shock collars are legal in most US states but banned in some countries and discouraged by many veterinarians. Use the lowest level and pair it with reward training.
When is it cheapest?
Budget pet electronics like this dip during Black Friday and Prime Day sales. Check the price history before buying at full price.
