Our take on the Heavy Duty Clear Tarp 8x20FT, UV Resistant, Waterproof Greenhouse Tarps with Grommets for Garden,Outdoor,Yard (10 mil)

A clear PVC vinyl tarp sold in an 8x20 ft size, meant to cover greenhouses, patios and yard projects while letting light through. It has grommets along the edges, heat-welded seams and a stated cold-crack rating of -32°C, and it meets CPAI-84 flammability requirements. The listing's spec fields contradict each other on size and thickness (4x6 ft, 10 ft, 24 mil, 10 mil), so confirm the actual dimensions and gauge with the seller before ordering. No current price was provided, so it cannot be compared with its recent range here.

Questions and answers

Is the 8x20 ft size accurate?
The listing's own spec fields disagree, showing 4x6 ft, 10 ft and 24 mil alongside 8x20 ft and 10 mil. Ask the seller to confirm the cut size and thickness before you order.
Will it hold up in winter?
The stated cold-crack rating is -32°C, which suits freezing outdoor use. Clear vinyl stiffens in cold, so avoid folding it sharply when frozen.
Does it block light for plants?
It is optically clear, so it passes daylight for greenhouses and cold frames. Some UV is filtered by the UV-resistant treatment, but it is not a shade cloth.
How do I attach it?
Use the grommets along the edges with rope, bungee cords or clips. Leave slight slack so wind and temperature changes don't tear the vinyl at the grommets.
Is it fire rated?
It meets the flammability requirements of CPAI-84:1995 Clause 3.2. That is a basic tent and tarp standard, not a fireproof rating.
When is it cheapest?
Clear tarps often drop in price in spring and early summer, ahead of greenhouse season. No current price was supplied, so check the price history before buying.
