Questions and answers

Is the Marka warm enough for winter on its own?

Helly Hansen rates it in its warmest insulation tier, so it handles cold dry days as an outer layer. In wind, rain or deep cold, wear it under a shell.

Does it have a hood?

No. The Marka is hoodless, which makes it a clean midlayer under a ski or rain jacket. Bring a hat or a hooded shell for head coverage.

Can you pack it into its own pocket?

It is listed as packable, so it compresses small for a pack or carry-on. It will not match a down jacket for packed size.

How does it compare with a down jacket?

The synthetic fill keeps insulating when wet, where down clumps and loses loft. Down is lighter and packs smaller for the same warmth.

How long is the back?

The back length is 21 inches, a hip-length cut. Taller wearers may find it rides high at the waist.

Is $104.73 a good price?

REI lists it at $104.73 as of November 7, 2026, and it is the only new listing, so there is no lower price to compare. Watch for seasonal markdowns before buying.

Where is the Helly Hansen Marka Insulator Jacket cheapest?

At REI, for $104.73, as of our latest check.
