Is the HexClad 8QT stock pot worth $145?

At $145 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is at the low end of its recent range, so the price is reasonable for a hybrid 8-quart pot. Whether it is worth it depends on how much you value searing plus nonstick release in one pot.

Does it work on induction?

Yes. HexClad's base is induction ready, and the pot works on gas, electric and glass-top ranges too.

Can it go in the oven?

Yes, the pot is oven safe to 480°F. Check the lid's own rating before putting the whole pot in a hot oven.

Is it dishwasher safe?

HexClad lists it as dishwasher safe, but hand washing will keep the nonstick layer and hex pattern in better shape longer.

How does it compare with a Dutch oven?

It is a stock pot, not a Dutch oven: wider and shallower than a typical 8-quart Dutch oven, with a nonstick interior instead of enameled cast iron. It heats faster and is lighter, but cast iron holds heat better for long braises.

The 8-quart stock pot and its lid. No steamer insert or other accessories are included.

Our take on the HexClad 8QT Hybrid Nonstick Braiser Stock Pot with Lid

The HexClad 8QT Hybrid Nonstick Braiser Stock Pot is a large, lidded pot built on HexClad's hybrid design: a laser-etched stainless steel hex pattern over a nonstick layer, so it sears like steel but releases like nonstick. It works on induction and all other stovetops, is oven safe to 480°F, and goes in the dishwasher. The 8-quart size and 10.2-inch flat bottom suit big batches of stock, chili, braises and pasta for a crowd. At $145 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with three stores listing it new.
