Pros
  • 24-inch seat fits standard 34- to 36-inch counters
  • Full swivel makes getting in and out easy
  • Solid wood frame in a neutral gray finish
  • Sold as a single piece, so you can match your count
  • 250 lb weight capacity covers most adults
Cons
  • No upholstery, so the wood seat may feel hard for long sits
  • 250 lb limit is below many padded counter stools
  • Gray finish may not match warm or dark wood kitchens
  • Sold one at a time, so a set of three costs about $450

Questions and answers

Is the Hillsdale Hamlin stool the right height for my counter?
Its seat is 24 inches, which is counter height. That fits counters about 34 to 36 inches tall. For a 40- to 42-inch bar, you need a 30-inch bar-height stool instead.
Does the seat swivel all the way around?
Yes. The seat swivels a full 360 degrees on the base, so you can turn toward the room or the counter without moving the stool.
Is $149.99 a good price for this stool?
It is the best new price among the four stores listing it as of November 3, 2026. Counter stools in solid wood with a swivel usually run $120 to $200, so this sits in the middle of that range.
How many stools come in one order?
One. The listing is for a single stool, so order the number you need for your island or counter.
Does it hold heavier adults?
The rated capacity is 250 lb. That covers most adults, but larger or heavier users may want a stool rated at 300 lb or more.
What do I need to assemble?
The stool ships unassembled. Plan on attaching the legs and swivel plate with the included hardware; a screwdriver and about 15 to 20 minutes are enough.
Where is the Hillsdale Furniture Hamlin Wood Counter Height Swivel Stool cheapest?
At Cymax, for $149.99, as of our latest check.
