Our take on the Hotree Cordless Impact Wrench 1/2 inch Brushless High Torque

The Hotree Cordless Impact Wrench is a 1/2-inch brushless impact wrench sold with a 21V battery, aimed at automotive work. Its listed 30 Nm of torque is low for a 1/2-inch impact wrench, and the spec sheet is internally inconsistent, so treat the headline numbers with caution. It has 16 ratings averaging 2.6 out of 5, which is weak for this category. No current price was provided, so there is no price history to compare against.

Best forLight automotive tasks like lug nuts on small carsOccasional home garage use where a corded tool is inconvenientBuyers who want a battery included in the box
Pros
  • Brushless motor, which generally runs cooler and lasts longer than brushed
  • Battery included, so it works out of the box
  • Two speeds and variable speed for control on lighter fasteners
  • 1/2-inch chuck fits common socket sets
Cons
  • 30 Nm is far below what most 1/2-inch impact wrenches deliver
  • Specs conflict: AC motor listed on a battery tool, 1 BPM and 1 ft cord make no sense
  • No NRTL safety certification listed
  • Low 2.6 out of 5 rating from 16 buyers
  • Battery capacity listed as 2000 Ah, which is not a real figure for this tool class

Questions and answers

Is 30 Nm enough for lug nuts?
Usually not. Most car lug nuts need roughly 100 Nm or more to loosen, so this wrench suits light fasteners, not wheel removal on most vehicles.
Is this really brushless with an AC motor?
The listing says brushless and battery-powered but also lists an AC motor. That is contradictory, so confirm the motor type with the seller before buying.
What comes in the box?
A battery is included according to the listing. A charger and case are not confirmed, so check before ordering.
How does it compare with a corded impact wrench?
A corded 1/2-inch wrench typically delivers far more torque for similar money. This tool's advantage is portability, not power.
Is it safe and certified?
The listing says it has no NRTL listing certification. That means it has not been certified by a recognized US safety lab such as UL or ETL.
When is it cheapest?
No price was provided, so there is no price history to judge. Compare across stores before buying.
What do buyers say about the Hotree Cordless Impact Wrench 1/2 inch Brushless High Torque?
