Is the X1 Pro Max worth $699?

If you film yourself alone and want 8K follow shots without a pilot, yes. If you want manual control or long flight times, a standard camera drone at the same price gives more.

How is it different from the standard X1 Pro?

The Pro Max adds a larger sensor and 8K recording, so it captures more detail and crops better. The standard Pro is cheaper and lighter on storage needs.

How long does the battery last?

Expect roughly 15 to 20 minutes per charge in normal use, less in wind or cold. Buy spare batteries for a full shoot day.

Do I need a controller?

No. It flies itself from the app and hand launch, and the smartphone is the controller. A separate controller is optional.

What comes in the box?

The drone, one battery, a charging cable and a carrying case. Extra batteries and the charging hub are sold separately.

It has sold near $699 recently, with the lowest prices around major sales events. Watch for bundle deals with spare batteries rather than small cuts.

Our take on the HoverAir X1 Pro Max

The HoverAir X1 Pro Max is a pocket-sized, self-flying camera drone from HoverAir that launches and lands from your hand and follows you without a controller. It records 8K video and is built for solo creators who want aerial shots without learning manual flight. The best new price is $699 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, and four stores carry it new. That price sits at the top of its recent range, so it is not a discount moment.
